Job Description:
About the Role:
As a Microbiologist you will be a key player in the responsibility and oversight of our QA Department processes and programs at our Dixon IL plant a manufacturer of quality Aseptic products.
Youll add value to this role by performing various functions including but not limited to:
- Collect analyze and interpret environmental samples for microbiological evaluation to assess sanitation effectiveness in production areas.
- Perform interpret and report results of microbiological testing of ingredients and finished products.
- Acquire knowledge of plant operations to support Quality and Operations in addressing food safety and quality issues.
- Prepare and submit test samples for external lab analysis as required.
- Assist in the production of Certificates of Analysis (COAs) for finished goods.
- Recommend improvements to procedures standards and equipment to enhance work efficiency and maintain product quality.
- Work collaboratively with Production personnel to ensure quality parameters are met and food safety is upheld.
- Assist QA Supervisors with tasks as needed and serve as Supervisor in their absence.
Important Details:
- This is a fulltime onsite role on First Shift. Occasional flexibility is required to support alternate shifts and weekends.
- The anticipated compensation for this position ranges from $52000 to $78000 annually. This is the lowest to highest salary we in good faith believe we would pay for this role at the time of this posting. An employees position within the salary range will be based on several factors including but not limited to specific competencies relevant education qualifications certifications experience skills seniority geographic location performance shift travel requirements sales or revenuebased metrics and business or organizational needs. For certain roles the successful candidate may be eligible for annual discretionary merit compensation award bonus and equity pay.
Youll fit right in if you have:
- Bachelors degree in food science Biology or a related field. SQF Practitioner certification and Food Defense Program leadership experience preferred.
- Minimum of one year of laboratory experience in a food manufacturing environment.
- Demonstrated experience auditing quality systems & manufacturing practices and that all documentation requirements are consistently adhered to meet safety quality and regulatory requirements.
- Excellent problem solving leadership and analytical skills.
- Experience using Microsoft Office.
