Job Description

Controls Engineer

Champlin MN Direct Hire $100k $130k

The Controls Engineer leads the development of PLC and HMI programs for the efficient operation of the companys products ensuring compliance with quality production and customer requirements.

Responsibilities:

  • Design develop and oversee PLC HMI and remote I/O programming in a fastpaced manufacturing environment.
  • Interpret customer specifications and guide engineers and designers.
  • Collaborate with crossfunctional teams to resolve design manufacturing and quality issues.
  • Provide training documentation and technical support to engineering teams.
  • Stay updated on industry trends and support new product development.
  • Maintain relationships with suppliers and provide onsite technical support (up to 25 travel).
  • Ensure compliance with quality safety and housekeeping standards.

Required Skills and Experience:

  • BS in engineering (or 2year technical degree with equivalent experience).
  • 10 years of engineering experience.
  • Proficiency in PLC and HMI programming (Emerson PAC Machine Edition Allen Bradley Studio 5000 FactoryTalk etc..
  • Experience with communication protocols (Modbus Ethernet IP Profinet).
  • Project coordination and management skills.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office and PLC/HMI software.

Preferred Skills:

  • Experience with SCADA integration (Ignition Wonderware etc..
  • Experience with Schweitzer AcSELerator Schneider Electric or GE Multilin software.
  • Background in renewables energy markets or battery systems.
