Job Description
Department of English seeks a parttime instructor to teach ENG 330 Theorizing Meaning and Interpretation 3 credit hours and ENG 410 Forms and Genres 3 credit hours.
Responsibilities
As part of your teaching assignment as a Parttime Instructor your duties will include the following: Developing and/or updating a class syllabus. Ordering the appropriate books and materials in advance of the class start date. Preparing lectures projects or other student assignments. Maintaining regularly scheduled office hours of 1 hour(s) per week. Presenting instruction based on the competencies and performance levels of the class. Meeting all designated class periods. If you are unable to meet with your class due to illness or emergency you should exercise your best effort to reschedule the class or to obtain a substitute. You must also notify the department chair or their designated contact of your absence and of your plan to cover the class. Working with the academic unit to maintain student learning outcomes. Submitting completed final grades according to University regulations. Grading student assignments and exams in a timely manner. Providing departmentally sanctioned forms for completed student evaluations. Completing all other courserelated duties as outlined by your departments policies for parttime instructors.
