Job Description

This is an exciting time to join the Specialty Care growth journey in Italy!

Specialty Care is a category made of Rare Disease I&I and innovative AntiInfectives: it is a significant contributor to the overall success of the Pfizer Italy business and the main contributor of growth in the coming years. With an overall 2024 business of 300 M strong position of Vyndaqel 2024 (revenue 150M 47 growth and IDM largest Knot and with further growth potential beyond 2025 4 new launches expected in 2025 and a portfolio of diverse brands the category is poised for growth impact and visibility.

Role description

The Specialty Care Lead will lead all aspects of the Specialty business and is the single point of accountability for the Specialty Care P&L in Italy. Directly responsible for an organization of almost 70 colleagues consisting of marketing functions and 50 customer facing team members. The Specialty Care Lead will also work very closely with the One Pfizer Customer Engagement Platform team to drive the excellence in of Vyndaqel strategy at regional/account level. The Specialty Care Lead will also lead cross functional teams that include Medical Finance Access & Value Corporate Affairs and other relevant functions/verticals contributions to deliver the Specialty revenue and IBT targets as well as drive the growth of the portfolio in country. The colleague in the role will be responsible for developing an annual and multiyear local operating plan and contributing to the broader Specialty Care strategy across International Commercial Office and Global Specialty team.

Reporting to the Country President Italy the Specialty Care Lead will be a member of the Country Leadership Team with strong enterprise leader mindset and holistic view while successfully driving the Specialty category providing input into key strategic and tactical decisions being responsible for delivering the targets.

The incumbent is expected to demonstrate proven capabilities in the following:

  • Leadership growing and inspiring others to bring their best;
  • Commercial Excellence setting strategy to reach commercial goals and to continue to evolve the Business Model;
  • P&L Accountability managing a full portfolio and delivering profitable growth;
  • Lifecycle Management managing a portfolio with different product life cycle stages;
  • Internal Ambassador leading and partnering with others to bring value to our patients;
  • External Ambassador leading the conversation to positively influence the external environment.

The colleague should conduct all activities and make decisions that are in accordance with Company policies and SOPs Pfizer Values and Actionable Attitudes and globalguidelines.

Key Responsibilities:

Operational and Financial Performance

  • Optimize the performance of the incountry portfolio of Specialty making decisions on country operations and developing short/long term product strategies
  • Develop and execute innovative business strategies/models to maximize revenue market share and growth
  • Maximize revenue and IBT performance by rigorously managing an ambitious P&L in alignment with goals managing expenses investments and supply mitigating legal and compliance risks
  • Directly lead the marketing functions and customer facing teams
  • Work closely with Customer Engagement Platform with Vyndaqel and other incountry crossfunctional teams to generate maximum commercial outcome
  • Work with abovecountry Specialty teams especially International Commercial Office to provide strategic / brand / operating plans
  • Ensure launch excellence through development of marketplace and policy in line with pipeline opportunities
  • Optimize access for Specialty assets through excellent stakeholder management and development of strategic initiatives that shape the policy across Italy
  • Evaluate develop and execute short and long term strategies to transform the way we engage patients physicians and other stakeholders
  • Partner with Medical to drive data generation
  • Maximize lifecycle product performance through excellence in aligned and innovative planning and
  • Approach business with a One Pfizer mindset to optimize results for Pfizer strategy

Customer/External Facing

  • Drive of customer strategies and tactics
  • Develop and lead integrated cross functional customer facing teams appropriate to the market needs
  • Personal ownership of key stakeholder relationships being a face of Pfizer Specialty Care in Italy externally

Organizational Relationships

Requirements Capabilities Skills & Experience

  • University Degree MBA or other relevant advanced degree strongly preferred
  • Proven experience in the pharmaceutical industry in roles of increasing accountability relevant experiences in incountry and abovecountry brand marketing sales leadership and brand launches
  • Broad knowledge and experience of the healthcare and pharmaceutical environment in Italy highly preferred
  • Demonstrated commercial success managing large and complex commercial operations/ portfolios at different stages of life cycle; understanding of specialty care product market dynamics preferred
  • Demonstrated entrepreneurship mindset agility ability to think BIG and focus on action and delivering results
  • Demonstrated ability to think and act strategically
  • Strong analytical thinking to plan and monitor strategy and changing environment
  • Demonstrated record of sound judgment and intelligent decisionmaking
  • Track record of successful P&L management highly preferred
  • Highly effective people management talent development and leadership skills to deliver business and organizational success through building and inspiring highperformance teams
  • Ability to influence across stakeholders internally and externally
  • Demonstrated ability to partner across functions and with abovecountry marketing teams
  • Change leader with tenacity and persistence to drive mindset/behavior change in the organization
  • High Energy and Drive and models Pfizer values and is able to inspire others
  • Conflict resolution and strong negotiation skills to achieve winwin resolution & ability to get things done in complex matrix organizations.
  • Fluency in written and spoken English; knowledge of Italian strongly preferred
