PERFORMANCE RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Teach knowledge and skills in physical fitness health education rhythms and dance and individual dual or team sports utilizing teaching competencies and other appropriate learning activities.
- Instruct pupils in citizenship expected student behavior and basic subject matter specified in state law and administrative regulations and procedures of the school district.
- Work cooperatively with other physical education/health teachers in planning a balanced education program to assure continuity and articulation.
- Analyze demonstrate and explain basic skills knowledge and strategies of formal sports games rhythms and fundamentals of body movement.
- Provide individualized and small group instruction in order to adapt the curriculum to the needs of each pupil to the extent feasible.
- Teach physical education classes for handicapped pupils interscholastic activities.

- Provide appropriate safety instruction and make safety checks on equipment and field areas to ensure the overall safety of pupils.
- Maintain and control the storage and use of schoolowned property.
- On a daily basis oversee that gym floors are clean and cared for and make sure that custodians/maintenance personnel keep the gymnasium and/or multipurpose building clean at all times to include the shower(s) dressing rooms storage rooms lobby porch concession areas weight room rest rooms and office.
- Establish and maintain standards of pupil behavior needed to provide an orderly productive environment in the physical education areas.
- Evaluate each pupils growth in physical skills knowledge and contribution in team sports.
- Maintain professional competencies through inservice education provided by the district and in selfselected professional growth activities.
- Participate cooperatively with the principal or his/her designee to develop the method by which the teacher will be evaluated in conformance with district guidelines.
- Select and requisition uniforms equipment and instructional aides; and maintain required inventory records.
- Communicate with parents biweekly monthly or sooner as the need arises to discuss the students weaknesses strengths progress and behavior.
- Identify pupil needs and cooperate with other professional staff members in helping pupils solve health attitude and learning problems.
- Cooperate with school administration in providing specialty performing groups for specific occasions board meeting assemblies and interscholastic athletic events.
- Supervise polios in outofclassroom activities as assigned.
- Participate in curriculum alignment benchmarks performance standards/assessments and revisions inclusive of bilingual development programs and implement EPSS.
- Gather data in order to develop strategies for student improvement.
- Participate in faculty committees and the sponsorship of student activities to include; in and out of school activities.
- Administer Group Standardized Tests in accordance with district testing program.
- Administer the Language Assessment Scale Testing and Scoring in both English and Spanish.
- Attend board meetings at the request of the Superintendent or his/her authorized designee.
- Perform other assigned tasks required of the supervisor(s).
