As a paraprofessional you will work alongside teachers to support students throughout the instructional process. Paraprofessionals typically enjoy work hours that coincide with the school day with school breaks evenings weekends and holidays off work.

Purpose Statement
The job of Paraprofessional I is to assist assigned teaching personnel in the supervision and instruction of students and performing classroom clerical tasks in support of the instructional process.
This position reports to the Principal.
Per Every Student Succeeds Act (ESSA) applicants must be Highly Qualified to be considered for this position. This includes having a high school diploma or a recognized equivalent along with one of the following three items: 1 completed at least two years at an accredited higher education institution (minimum 48 semester hours) or 2 obtained an associates (or higher) degree from an accredited higher education institution or 3 satisfied a rigorous state or local assessment (Parapro Assessment). The higher education institution official transcripts or diploma or a copy of the Paraprofessional Assessment must be provided with your application or upon a contingent offer of employment.
Minimum Qualifications
- High school diploma or equivalent
- Ability to pass a criminal justice fingerprint and criminal background clearance
- Must meet the Highly Qualified Requirements (ESSA)
- Speak read write present professionally analyze and interpret written and verbal communications in English

- Knowledgeable of age appropriate activities; stages of child development; classroom management techniques; and development of effective lesson plans.
- Ability to administer first aid; apply assessment instruments;prepare and maintain accurate records.
- Ability to lead small groups; learn through play; communicate orally and in writing; and adhere to safety practices.
- Ability to perform basic math including calculations using fractions percents and/or ratios; read a variety of manuals write documents following prescribed formats and/or present information to others.
- Able to schedule activities and/or meetings; gather collate and/or classify data; and use basic job related equipment.
- Flexibility to work with others in a variety of circumstances; work with data utilizing defined but different processes; and operate physical education equipment and playground activities using standardized methods.
- Ability to work with a wide diversity of individuals; work with a variety of data; and utilize jobrelated equipment.

- Experience in a K12 education or public employment environment

Essential Functions
- Adapts classroom work under the direction of the teacher and provides a method to support and/or reinforce lesson plans.
- Administer tests and evaluations under supervision of teacher (e.g. DRA DIBELS observational data for IEP goals etc. monitors student progress.
- Assists other personnel as required and needed (e.g. instructors site administration other para professionals etc. ensuring an efficient and effective work environment.
- Confers with teachers assisting in evaluating student progress and/or implementing student objectives.
- Implement students learning and behavior plans to meet students social and behavioral interventions health care plans and/or ensuring compliance with IEPs.
- Monitor individual students in a variety of settings (e.g. classroom library playground activities field trip bus boarding and exiting etc. providing a safe and positive learning environment.
- Performs record keeping and clerical functions (e.g. scheduling copying data recording etc. to support the teacher and administrator.
- Provides appropriate classroom intervention with students under the Teachers direction (e.g. booster groups individual instruction small group instruction etc. improving student learning and academic success.
- Prepare teaching materials and related reports (e.g. grades attendance anecdotal records etc. for the purpose of implementing lesson plans and documenting student progress.
- Report incidents (e.g. fights suspected child abuse suspected substance abuse etc. for the purpose of maintaining the personal safety of students providing a positive learning environment and adhering to Education Code administrative and/or school policies.
- Participates in various meetings workshopsfor the purpose of receiving and/or conveyinginformation.
- Maintain regular and predictable attendance to fulfill job requirements efficiently and effectively.

Working Environment
The usual and customary methods of performing the jobs functions require the following physical demands: occasional lifting carrying pushing and/or pulling some climbing and balancing some stooping kneeling crouching and/or crawling and some fine finger dexterity. Generally the job requires 40 sitting 30 walking and 30 standing. This job is performed in a generallyhazard free environment.
