Job Description

Title: Housekeeping & Maintenance Tier I

Location: Bronx New York

Salary Range:$35000 $35000

Role Summary: We are seeking a dedicated Housekeeping and Maintenance Worker to join our team at NAICA. The ideal candidate will play a crucial role in maintaining a clean and safe environment for our residents. This position involves a combination of housekeeping maintenance and facility support tasks. The Housekeeping and Maintenance Worker will collaborate closely with the operations team to ensure the facility operates smoothly and complies with all relevant regulations.

Primary Job Responsibilities/Duties:

The Housekeeping and Maintenance Worker will be responsible for but not limited to:

  • Cleaningandmaintainingthe exterior perimeter lobby hallways walls and elevators of thefacility.
  • Ensuringcleanliness in resident bathrooms recreation rooms and other communal spaces asneeded.
  • Conductingrepairs and painting as per assigned workorders.
  • Managing snow removal and ice salting on exterior grounds duringwinter.
  • Performingregular garbage collection throughout the facility including staff officespaces.
  • Preparingandmaintainingthe garbage room for weekly trash and recyclablesremoval. Keepingstaff closets slop sinks and other cleaningrelated areas organized andclean.
  • Lockingand securing rooms and the facility to prevent unauthorizedentry.
  • Promptlyreporting incidents and repairneeds.
  • Properlyusingandmaintainingfacilityequipment.
  • Maintaininga daily work log of completedtasks.
  • Recordingthe use of all facilitysupplies.
  • Adheringto personal appearance hygiene and uniform policies andstandards.
  • Assistingin compliance with city state and federal building codes and industry standards including Occupational Safety and Health Administration (OSHA) and UniversalPrecautions.
  • Obtainingand renewing licenses and certificationsfor jobduties.
  • Participatingin facility and professional group meetings asscheduled.
  • Maintainingopen communication with facility and departmental supervisors and coworkersregardingmaintenanceissues.
  • Collaborativelyresolving problems within the facility.

Physical Requirements:

  1. Flexibility to work outside of standard hours or on weekends if required.
  2. Physical fitness for frequent bending lifting reaching and extended walking.
  3. Ability to perform heavy work including lifting objects weighing up to 100 pounds andfrequentlycarrying objects up to 50 pounds.
  4. Must be able to travel to multiple NYC sites as needed.

Work Environment / Schedule Requirements:

  1. Provide professional development coaching and mentorship to subordinates.
  2. Office setting with regular exposure to computer screens and moderate noise levels.
  3. Ability to work a standard schedule with assigned hours.
  4. Flexibility to work outside of standard hours or on weekends if required.

Qualifications:

  • CPR/Basic First Aidcertification.
  • Basicknowledge of carpentry electrical work and plumbingpreferred.
  • OccupationalSafety and Health Administration (OSHA)Certification.
  • Abilitytooperaterelated equipment tools and materials used in thefacility.
  • Provenability to work collaboratively with diversegroups.
  • Strongorganizational skills attention to detail andefficiency.
  • Willingnessto obtain other necessary credentials as(e.g. FDNY F02 Certificate of Fitness.
  • Mustbe able to read speak write and understand English for administrative purposes.
  • Must pass drug screeningto be appointed.
  • This positionmay besubject to a series of investigations beforeand afterappointment.
