Union Settlement Adult Education is seeking a GED Instructor to provide inperson support for GED certification. All test subjects are to be taught in English. The GED Instructor reports to the Adult Education Director and has the overall responsibility of the development and implementation of the academic curriculum program compliance and quality assurance. The agency has embraced the concept of a fullyintegrated system of care for all consumers of service. This requires that all agency staff assess the clients needs holistically and see it as their responsibility to connect the client with services needed internal or external to the agency regardless of the door through which the consumer enters the system.
The GED Instructor is responsible for providing individual and group instruction to adult learners studying to obtain their High School Equivalency (HSE) and those Union Settlement Adult Education participants seeking to enhance their skills through Adult Basic Education (ABE). This role assesses the educational needs of each Union Settlement Adult Education participant who expresses an interest in pursuing education as part of their career advancement goals. It also develops and implements program curriculum to be delivered via group instruction inperson format. The GED Instructor monitors participant progress communicating regularly across teams and providing direct and timely feedback to participants with a traumainformed approach. This role also works closely with Union Settlement Adult Educations Community Resource Coordinators to support participants as they advance into postsecondary educational and training opportunities. Union Settlement Adult Education is seeking an individual with strong content knowledge in adult education with the ability to teach a diverse group of adult learners with varying skillsets abilities and employment goals.Responsibilities:
