Job Description
The Opportunity: PLA Instructional Coaches (IC) are passionate and devoted leaders who bring creativity and rigor to our classrooms by providing support to our educators. As an instructional coach you will be responsible for supporting the improvement of classroom instruction across the campus. The IC will work with our educators to provide individual coaching will support teachers in utilizing data to drive instruction and is responsible for identifying and coordinating the needed professional development to support the success of our staff. PLA leaders strongly believe in every scholars ability to succeed and they work tirelessly to create a school experience that fosters success.
The Details:
Key Deliverables:
- 100 of Building Leaders are utilizing and implementing the PLA Coaching Cycle
- 100 of the projected Math and Reading growth goals are met from BOY to EOY
- 100 of PD is driven by the PLA Coaching Cycle analytics
- 90 Staff Retention
- 90 weekly usage rate of K2 Early Literacy Foundational Skills and 35 Close Reading for Meaning
- Bachelors degree or higher from an accredited college or university; Masters degree preferred
- Valid State Teacher License
- High proficiency in gradelevel standards benchmarks and curriculum
- Effective pedagogical skills driven by standards and datadriven assessment promoting critical thinking and problemsolving
- Experience tracking and using data to drive instruction

The Campus:
PLA @ Nixon Elementary School is located at 1000 Edgar D Nixon Ave Montgomery AL 36104. We serve about 450 students and believe that every student is a scholar. With the right education scholars can fulfill their tremendous innate potential and become leaders in their communities and the world. In 2022 with the support of the Montgomery Education Foundation (MEF) and Phalen Leadership Academies (PLA) Nixon became a premier charter school in Montgomery Alabama. We work together with parents and the community to improve the educational outcomes of our scholars and neighborhood families. Nixon exists to serve the local community and create a safe and thriving space for scholars to feel loved empowered and encouraged through quality education.
Compensation and benefits:
PLA School Leaders receive a base salary that is competitively aligned to the market. In addition to a base salary PLA School Leaders receive:
