Human Resource Intern Part Time DEPARTMENT: Human Resources SCHEDULE: Up to 29 hours per week REPORTS TO: Human Resources Supervisor Position Summary The Human Resources Intern will work closely with the Human Resources Manager and Human Resources Supervisor to support various HR initiatives including the development of internal training materials assistance with records retention and engagement in key department projects. This internship will run from end of May or early June through July. Essential Functions Reasonable accommodation may be made to enable individuals with disabilities to perform the essential functions of this position. - Assist in the creation of internal HR training materials by development PowerPoint presentations based on provided outlines.
- Build and maintain relationships with local colleges to support talent pipeline initiatives.
- Conduct research and provide recommendations for the implementation of a Total Compensation Statement.
- Support various Human Resources Information System (HRIS) projects through research and data collection.
- Help organize department files and recommend appropriate document retention or destruction in accordance with policy.
- Provide support for the daytoday operations of the Human Resources Department.
- Comply with company policies and procedures.
- Perform other related duties as assigned.
Required Education and Experience - Enrolled in undergraduate degree program as a Junior or Senior or in a graduate degree program in a related field of study.
- Basic experience in Human Resources preferred.
Licensing/Certifications: Additional Skills - Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite particularly PowerPoint and Excel as well as other relevant software.
- Strong verbal and written communication skills.
- Ability to maintain confidentiality and handle sensitive information.
- Clear and effective communicator.
- Exceptional attention to detail.
- Strong organizational skills and ability to manage multiple tasks.
- Capable of problemsolving in a dynamic environment.
- Skilled in building and maintaining positive cooperative and respectful relationships with internal and external colleagues peers and teams.
Work Environment and Physical Demands This job primarily operates in a climatecontrolled environment. Works with equipment such as computers copy machines fax and phones. The position requires auditory and visual skills and the ability to follow written and oral instructions and procedures. There is no regular travel expected for this position.
