Job Description
EXPECTED RESULTS AND ACHIEVEMENTS
- Lead mining team to accomplish operational goals established by Plant Manager
- Load aggregate material onto haul trucks
- Dirt moving and/or stripping when needed
- Inspect fuel grease and refill fluids on equipment as needed.
- Perform routine inspections on equipment complete minor equipment maintenance report safety issues.
- Utilize various hand tools as needed to complete daily job requirements
- Help maintain a hazard free work environment by assisting in housekeeping and maintenance duties
- Work with team members to complete operational priorities of the day cross train in other job positions as needed
- Follow all safety policies including MSHA and company regulations.
- Other duties as assigned
Pay Rate:$28 per hour
KEY ACCOUNTABILITIES
The primary areas of responsibility include:
- Plant Safety
- Operating Equipment
- Minor Equipment Maintenance
REQUIRED KNOWLEDGE SKILLS AND ABILITIES
- 35 yeas experience operating heavy equipment
- Experience with excavators dozer blade operation and frontend loader
- Ability to use power tools welders cutting torches/chains and various safety devices
- Self motivated and able to work effectively in small teams
- Basic mechanical aptitude and math skills
- Ability to work 12 hour shifts and weekends
EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE
- Experience working in aggregate industry a plus
- Experience operating heavy equipment in a plant environment preferred
- High School Diploma or GED equivalent preferred
TRAVEL REQUIREMENT
- Less than 10 as needed
PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS

- While performing the duties of this job the employee is regularly outside and exposed to various weather conditions including hot/cold temperatures and rain/snow conditions.
- Employee constantly sits utilizes manual dexterity uses fine motor skills gross motor skills eye/hand coordination near/far vision and requires active hearing/listening.
- Employee occasionally stands walks climbs crawls kneels bends reaches lifts to 50 lbs carries up to 50 lbs pushes and pulls.
- Employee is regularly exposed to loud noises heavy machinery moving equipment oil debris solvents smokes gasses fumes and aggregate materials.
- Required PPE includes safety shoes above ankles safety vests safety glasses ear plugs and hard hats. Additional PPE requirements needed for special jobs such as welding repairing etc.
