Role purpose

The Maintenance Manager has accountabilitiesfor all aspects of Maintenance at the site. This includes driving the sites Journey to Excellence (J2E) ensuring safe personal and team behaviors performance and compliance with all outlined safety and food safety procedures and protocols. Additionally leading motivating and developing a proactive team of maintenance professionals that optimize the reliability and lifecycle of all operational assets is essential. The position is under direction of the Plant Manager/Director of Operations.

As a Maintenance Manager the incumbent is responsible for:

  • Responsible for proper disposal of hazardous nonhazardous special and universal wastes.
  • Maintain contacts and adhere with local state and federal regulations as necessary.
  • Supervision of the maintenance of critical safety devices to fulfil compliance requirements.
  • Understand the lifesaving principles and how they apply to TLs work environment

Main accountabilities

  • Supports and promotes the Tate and Lyle core values of Safety Integrity and Respect
  • Promote safe behavior and instil a strong safety culture within the entire Maintenance organization including contractors
  • Ensure that operational equipment utilities and facilities maintain compliance with all relevant regulations and Tate & Lyle standards (safety environmental quality etc.
  • Develop and execute a comprehensive Maintenance Strategy that aligns with plant and corporate goals
  • Support reliability initiatives and help establish a strong and sustainable reliability culture at the site
  • Provide the development and coaching of members of the Maintenance Team at all levels to ensure the longterm success of the organization
  • Establish effective communications and a strong collaborative environment with other departments particularly Manufacturing Reliability Safety and Quality as well as other Maintenance organizations (both within and outside of T&L)
  • Develop and meet a maintenance budget that accurately reflects both shortterm needs and longterm viability; drive the organization to optimize maintenance spend
  • Establish S.M.A.R.T. goals for the organization and utilize visual metrics/dashboards to chart results/progress
  • Develop a culture of continuous improvements where decisions are made based on facts data and financial analysis
  • Drive the organization to solve problems to the root cause level and always followup with actions that will prevent recurrence
  • Responsibilities include but not limited to oversight of contractors infrastructurebuilding grounds railways fire systems and storeroom

Performance measures

The incumbent will be measured against site EHS Quality Production Reliability and Leadership goals.

Skills and experience required

  • 4year technical degree or equivalent experience required. Engineering preferred
  • Minimum 7 years experience in maintenance or engineering within a manufacturing environment; food manufacturing background desired
  • Minimum 7 years of managerial/leadership experience; strong preference for experience in leading a Maintenance organization from reactive to proactive culture (i.e. reliability culture)
  • Strong leader and team builder with good motivational skills
  • Excellent communication and collaboration skills
  • Proven capability at troubleshooting including the use of root cause analysis techniques for solving complex problems
  • Functional knowledge of utility equipment and systems
  • Knowledgeable in use of SAP Maintenance or other EAM/CMMS; proven capability at data mining and trend recognition
  • Financial understanding and experience with departmental budget and expenditures.

When determining final compensation we take into consideration: skillset job scope knowledge prior experience cost of living market data budget availability and other factors as permitted by law.

The pay range for this position is:$78600 $108100.
