JOB TITLE: (AOI) Automated Optical Inspection Equipment Operator

DEPARTMENT: Quality

REPORTING TO: Quality Manager

PRIMARY FUNCTION OF POSITION:

The (AOI) Automated Optical Inspection Operator operates the equipment that performs optical inspection of electronic circuits to ensure that they meet the IPCA610 acceptability requirements. They will also aid in the debugging of the AOI equipment and the verification of the defects that were called out by the AOI equipment. They identify and report any quality issues that are found on the unit for rework by qualified rework personnel. They will work closely with the AOI Programmer to provide feedback on the effectiveness and efficiency of the equipment so that the programmer can maximize the effectiveness and efficiency of the AOI process. They will also be utilized to perform manual inspection at specified steps in the process to ensure that product meet IPCA610 requirements.

DESCRIPTION OF DUTIES:

  • Review product specific and customer specific documented.
  • Perform XRay Inspect of product to IPCA610 JSTD001 or other specified industry standards.
  • Inspect product to IPCA610 JSTD001 or other specified industry standards.
  • Identify and report (log) any defects found during inspection process.
  • Communicate recurring problems to the Process Engineering Assembly Engineering Quality Specialist and/or Quality Manager.
  • Other duties as assigned.

EDUCATION/EXPERIENCE REQUIRED:

  • 3 years of experience as a quality inspector and/or XRay inspection of electronic circuits.
  • 2 years of experience in operating the Automatic Optical Inspection equipment.
  • Must pass and maintain CIT certification for IPCA610 standard.
  • Basic understanding of IPCA600 standard.
  • Able to read write and interpret the English language.
  • Work well in a team environment.

PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS:

  • Candidate must be able to walk sit and/or stand for extended periods of time.
  • Candidate must be able to lift up to at least 25 pounds.
