This position will be located at the Cascadia Technical Academy Satellite location Wisdom Ridge at the Port of Ridgefield WA.

This position will remain open until a qualified applicant is selected. The earliest date a recommendation for hire may be submitted is after02/10/2025.

SUMMARY STATEMENT:

The PreElectrical instructor will lead and deliver instruction and coordinate the operation of the PreElectrical Program in accordance with Washington State requirements. The program prepares students to be high performing entry level electrical and construction related employees. The program focuses on electrical theory and blueprint reading residential and commercial electrical codes and wiring and motor controls. The program develops critical thinking and teamwork skills.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:

QUALIFICATIONS:

  1. Possess a Washington State Career and Technical Education Teacher Certificate with an endorsement in Electrical (V460302 or Electrical and Electronic Equipment Repair (V470101 or meet qualifications to obtain one. A requirement for certification includes a minimum of 6000 hours of work experience in the electrical trades.
  2. Current or recent 2 to 4 years) experience in the electrical trades.
  3. Possess a general journeylevel electrician (EL01 license.
  4. Ability and willingness to develop and promote the PreElectrical program.
  5. Ability and willingness to develop and implement a workbased learning internship program with local community.
  6. Current CPR/First Aid Card.
  7. Experience in other roles in the electrical career path such as administrator supply chain and project management.
  8. Demonstrated success or training in providing leadership and guidance to the student leadership requirements of the program
  9. Evidence of teacher training or experience which reflects interactive studentcentered instruction using technology and realworld applications to enhance teaching and learning.
  10. Evidence of experience working with program advisory committee and community partners.
  11. Demonstrated success in maintaining a positive productive learning climate in the classroom as well as with parents and colleagues.
  12. Evidence of satisfactory experience in curriculum development classroom management and organization for routine detail.

  7. Demonstrated ability to establish effective working relationships and interact successfully with diverse instructional support services and administrative staff including perceiving the needs and concerns of others; assisting others in resolving conflicts; motivating others; and designing programs to assist others in meeting organizational goals.
