Job Description

POSITION SUMMARY

The Aboriginal Health Advocate works closely with northern Sttimc communities Interior Health the Ministry of Health to achieve the recommendations from the In Plain Sight Report the Truth and

Reconciliation Calls to Action and the goals outlined in the Declaration on the Rights of Indigenous Peoples Act (DRIPA) Action Plan.

The Advocate aligns with Health Quality BC philosophies that support systemwide leadership to improve the quality of care provided by the Interior Health (IH) and other healthcare providers.

QUALIFICATIONS

  • A degree in a relevant field AND five years experience working in healthcare intergovernmental relations negotiations
  • Demonstrated knowledge experience and understanding of Aboriginal people and their
  • Knowledge of the provincial healthcare
  • Demonstrated ability to work in a collaborative leadership
  • Proven ability to leanin to difficult

SALARY: $31/ hr $58240 annual) to $35/ hour $63700 annual) plus benefits dependent on education and experience
