Description

AMHC is seeking a dedicated compassionate and experienced Childrens Crisis Unit Manager to oversee the Childrens Crisis Unit operations within a behavioral health setting. This vital role ensures that children experiencing acute mental health behavioral or emotional crises receive appropriate care support and intervention in a safe and therapeutic environment.


The Crisis Unit Manager will lead a team of behavioral health professionals promote best practices ensure regulatory compliance and foster collaboration with families and community partners. Responsibilities & Expectations:

  • Crisis Management: Oversee the assessment treatment and crisis intervention for clients in acute distress. Ensure traumainformed care is provided with staff trained to handle emergencies using deescalation techniques and clinical interventions.
  • Patient & Family Support: Take a familycentered approach ensuring families are actively involved in the treatment process and kept informed of progress. Provide emotional support and counseling to help families navigate the crisis and utilize available resources.
  • Compliance & Quality Assurance: Ensure the crisis unit adheres to all licensing regulations safety standards and ethical guidelines. Evaluate care delivery identify areas for improvement and implement evidencebased practices. Ensure documentation is in compliance with legal and institutional requirements.
  • Collaboration & Communication: Serve as a liaison between the crisis unit hospital personnel and community agencies (e.g. schools social services law enforcement). Represent the unit in meetings committees and community outreach initiatives.
  • Resource Management: Monitor and manage the units budget ensuring effective and efficient use of resources.
  • Crisis Planning & Procedure Development: Assist in the development and implementation of policies and procedures for crisis response. Participate in crisis response planning to ensure preparedness for emergencies or highrisk situations.

Schedule:

  • This is a 40hour per week nonexempt position
  • Employees are expected to be available for weekends evenings overnights (awake) and holidays. Overtime may be required to ensure proper service delivery.

Requirements
  • An associates degree is required; a bachelors degree is preferred.
  • A minimum of 35 years of experience in behavioral health crisis intervention or a related field including 12 years in a supervisory or management role.
