Job Description

Colorado Academy is seeking a PK12 Educational Technology Specialist for theacademic year. This position plays a crucial role in integrating technology into teaching and learning designing and leading faculty training and ensuring students develop essential technology skills. The role will provide ongoing jobembedded learning and support to faculty in effective teaching practices personal pedagogical growth classroom management lesson plan development cultural competency and the creative and innovative use of technology. The Educational Technology Specialist and Coach will also teach a middle or upper school innovation course support schoolwide technology initiatives and stay at the forefront of emerging educational technologies.


This is a fulltime 11month faculty position that reports to the Director of Educational Technology.

Key Responsibilities


Technology Integration & Faculty Support

  • Collaborate with teachers to implement meaningful and effective technologyenhanced learning experiences.
  • Assist faculty in using AI digital tools and emerging technologies to create engaging and differentiated instruction.
  • Provide handson support in classrooms to help teachers and students use technology effectively.
  • Develop and share instructional resources including technology guides and video tutorials.
  • Assess the level of technology integration across grades and support teachers in implementing best practices.
  • Provide coaching and modeling that improves student learning lesson design instructional delivery and assessments that promote equitable student experiences.

Workshops & Professional Development

  • Design and lead faculty training sessions on instructional technology AI in education blended learning and digital literacy.
  • Host handson workshops for teachers students and staff on emerging technologies and best pedagogical practices.
  • Develop and maintain selfpaced learning modules including video guides and interactive resources for classroom technology integration.
  • Stay at the forefront of educational technology trends evaluating their potential for classroom use.

Student Engagement & Teaching

  • Teach at least one Middle or Upper School innovation class per trimester.
  • Design and lead digital citizenship lessons for students across all grade levels.
  • Support interdisciplinary projects that integrate STEM humanities and technologybased methodologies.
  • Work with teachers to develop engaging student projects that incorporate digital tools computational thinking and realworld problemsolving.

Collaboration & School Initiatives

  • Work closely with the Director of Educational Technology to align instructional technology strategies across divisions.
  • Assist in implementing schoolwide policies on AI digital citizenship and ethical technology use.
  • Support a culture of responsible creative and innovative technology use among students and faculty.
  • Curate and share ideas resources and success stories related to technology integration highlighting innovative teaching practices and impactful uses of digital tools across the school community.
  • Collaborate on initiatives that promote equitable and inclusive technology practices in the classroom.
Requirements
  • Bachelors or Masters degree in Education Educational Technology Instructional Design Computer Science or a related field.
  • At least five years of experience teaching in a PK12 setting.
  • Expertise in a broad range of educational technologies including 1:1 device programs AI tools various LMS coding and maker spaces.
  • Ability to quickly learn and effectively teach new and emerging digital tools.
  • Strong knowledge of instructional design and curriculum development.
  • Experience leading professional development for educators on technologyenhanced learning.
  • Background in coaching faculty around teaching practices classroom management lesson plan development and the creative and innovative use of technology.
  • Excellent communication and collaboration skills to work effectively with teachers administrators students and families.
  • Commitment to lifelong learning and staying up to date with trends in educational technology and pedagogy.

The pay for this position is $63200 $113900. Although this is a good faith and reasonable estimate of the possible compensation at the time of posting Colorado Academy reserves the right to pay more or less than the posted range. Any wage differential that may exist for the position does not relate to sex gender or gender identity but relates solely to a seniority system a merit system or relevant education training and/or experience. Medical Dental Vision and Life Insurance benefit programs are available as is a 403(b) retirement plan. Eligibility for all benefit programs is defined by the applicable plan document.
