Job Description
Job Title: Research Associate
Vertex is seeking a highly motivated BS level scientist or equivalent to execute invivo rodent experiments aimed at understanding PK/ADME properties and the mechanism of action of new therapeutics. This position requires strong proficiency in inlife procedures and a basic understanding of pharmacokinetics/pharmacology concepts.
Responsibilities:
- Design and execute in vivo experiments to determine ADME properties pharmacokinetics and biomarker responses in rodents. Responsibilities to include rodent handling drug delivery via multiple routes of administration (IV SC IV PO) necropsy and sample collection
- In collaboration with other members of the group develop and troubleshoot novel models for understanding of drug metabolism properties and mechanism of action of new molecular entities
- Independently plan experiments and document study data
The successful candidate will possess:
- Strong invivo rodent handling skills including injections sample collection restraining techniques and anesthesia
- Demonstrated ability to establish and maintain operating standards and policies related to in vivo studies
- A basic understanding pharmacokinetic/pharmacology research specifically those driving the exposure/effect relationship of NCE
- A flexible team based attitude suitable for an entrepreneurial discovery research environment
Required Experience:
BS degree in biology pharmacology or related scientific discipline with 13 years industry or academic experience.

Associates with 35 years of industry experience.
Pay Range
$34$35/HR
