Training and Exercise Analyst Macdill Air Force Base Tampa FL The Training and Exercise Analyst assists the United States Marine Corps Forces Central Command (MARCENT) and subordinate commands by serving within the operations directorate task area. The positions primary mission involves advising the COMUSMARCENT in all matters pertaining to current and future operations and organizing directing and controlling USMC operations in the USCENTCOM AOR. The operations directorate handles force requirements and coordinates Global Force Management needs with the Service and USCENTCOM overseeing training readiness personnel recovery and force protection and ensures all necessary actions are aligned for both current and future operations. The Training and Exercise Analyst directly supports services for MARCENT through the development of training and exercise analysis services to ensure the efficient of MARCENT OAMS tasks both within the continental United States (CONUS) and outside the continental United States (OCONUS). The Training and Exercise Analyst will perform the following duties: ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES - Provide training and exercises analysis services.
- Prepare written evaluations for MARCENT approval presentations and briefs that support exercise planning and AMHS messages pertaining to exercises and the unit training continuum.
- Identify codify refine and promulgate all training requirements for USMC forces and individuals traveling to or operating in the CENTCOM AOR.
- Support and update Mission Essential Tasks (MET) for the USMC formations by working with all applicable force headquarters.
- Review newly published training requirements doctrine policy and techniques and procedures and determine if they apply to the USMC formations or individuals upload and maintain currency of information to the MARCENT SharePoint page which will be maintained to reflect current training references After Action Reports Lessons Learned Reports and relevant points of contact.
- Support the G3 with planning and coordination of all Service Headquarters and Combatant Command directed unit training continuum tasks unit evaluation tasks and unit assessments.
- Support the G3 with developing exercise training objectives lessons learned requirements and nominations and component publication and policy review and analysis.
- Support the development of scenarios tasks and events for exercises that assist the MARCENT Staff and subordinate elements in achieving training objectives.
- Assist the MARCENT G3 staff in the development of training and exercise related Standard Operating Procedures Checklists Policies Orders and Directives via participation in planning teams working groups and conferences as required to incorporate lessons learned and afteraction items from previous similar events are identified and addressed.
EDUCATION - HS diploma or equivalent required.
EXPERIENCE - Minimum ten years of military experience.
- Experience in analyzing and supporting training and exercise programs preferably within military or defense environments.
- Familiarity with military training doctrine policies and procedures especially those relevant to USMC and USCENTCOM operations and experience coordinating with various military and defense agencies on training and operational exercises.
- Experience in developing training scenarios exercises and event planning to support training objectives.
- Background in reviewing and updating training requirements conducting unit evaluations and integrating lessons learned into training programs.
CORE SKILLS/COMPETENCIES Required Knowledge Skills and Abilities - Possess expert level proficiency and expert level knowledge of the Systems Approach to Training (SAT) USMC Title 10 force generation requirements Mission Essential Task List (METL) basics Training and Education Command organization and resources and Joint training and education resources.
- Expertise in analyzing and supporting training exercises including preparing evaluations presentations and written briefs. Ability to codify and refine training requirements and ensure they align with current doctrine and policies.
- Proficiency in preparing and maintaining training documentation including updating SharePoint pages with current training references and afteraction reports.
- Skills in developing realistic training scenarios and exercises that align with MARCENTs training objectives and operational requirements.
- Advanced proficiency with groupware applications (SharePoint MS Teams) and the Microsoft Office suite (Word Power Point Excel etc. desired.
- Strong written and verbal communication skills desired.
WORKING CONDITIONS - Required to sit for extended periods of time and maintain focus.
SPECIAL POSITION NOTATIONS - Travel is required.
- Qualification as an authorized company driver is required. All authorized company drivers must have a valid drivers license current automobile insurance and a driving record that is acceptable to the companys auto insurance provider.
