Denver Health is proud to offer a oneyear comprehensive body imaging fellowship. We offer outstanding training with a wide range of clinical cases and imaging modalities in a supportive educational environment. All radiology attendings hold academic appointments at the University of Colorado School of Medicine (a separate but affiliated institution) and are actively involved in teaching students residents and fellows.

Our mission is to provide an excellent educational experience for our fellows covering all aspects of body imaging. All radiology attendings are actively involved in a variety of educational activities. We offer the full spectrum of stateoftheart imaging at our 7story outpatient imaging facility and in our 550bed main inpatient tower which includes a Level 1 trauma center. Both of these facilities are located on the main campus in the heart of downtown Denver. Graduating fellows will receive the necessary training and resources to excel in either academic or private practice settings following completion of the program.
The Organization
Denver Health is an integrated efficient academic safety net health care system and considered a model for the region and the nation. As Colorados primary safety net institution Denver Health provides care to one third of Denvers residents at our main campus located at the heart of downtown Denver and our network of community health centers and schoolbased health clinics. The most recent addition is our 7story 293000 square foot outpatient medical center opened in spring of 2021 on the same campus as our inpatient hospital with a total 555 adult pediatric and OB/GYN beds.
Denver Health is well known for its worldrenowned Level 1 Trauma Center and has one of the highest survival rates in the country. The trauma center sees 18000 patients annually resulting in 2700 admissions and many arrive as transfers from 60 regional hospitals for higher level care.
The scope of our medical services extends well beyond trauma care. We offer the full spectrum of medical services from primary to specialized oncologic care which continue to grow with our new outpatient facility.
Modalities
As a body imaging fellow you will receive indepth training in all aspects of body imaging in MRI CT US Xray and fluoroscopic exams.
MRI The fellow will be trained in interpreting and protocoling a broad spectrum of body MRI including the following: hepatobiliary (including Eovist and iron deposition protocols); pancreatic/MRCP; adrenal; renal; gastrointestinal (including MR enterography and rectal cancer); male genitourinary (including MR urography prostate and penile); obstetric/gynecologic (including endometriosis endometrial cancer cervical cancer pelvic floor dysfunction pregnancy); MR angiography; and cancersyndrome whole body screening. For those interested cardiac MRI training is also available.
CT The fellow will be comprehensively trained in emergency inpatient and outpatient imaging including vascular imaging and dual energy. For those interested cardiac CT training is also available predominately made up of coronary CTAs.
Ultrasound The fellow will be trained in a wide variety of general body ultrasound including liver elastography. The fellow will also receive training in first trimester obstetric pediatric and musculoskeletal ultrasound.
PET/CT The fellow will interpret oncologic FDG PET studies as well studies using novel radiotracers for prostate cancer (PSMA) and neuroendocrine tumors (DOTATATE).
Fluoroscopy The fellow will perform and interpret standard gastrointestinal and genitourinary studies including upper GIs esophagrams modified barium swallows barium enemas retrograde urethrograms and hysterosalpingograms.
Image Guided Nonvascular Procedures Interventional body procedures are offered as an optional part of fellowship training depending on fellow preference.

As integral members of the section fellows participate in the supervision and education of radiology residents on service.
The fellowship offers the opportunity for additional scholarly opportunities with mentorship.
Position Details Salary and Benefits
Denver Health fellow salaries are highly competitive locally and nationally. Dedicated academic funds are available to assist with academic pursuits.

Interviews for thefellowship year with an intended start date of July 1 2025 will begin January 8 2024 with offer(s) extended after January 8th until the fellowship spot has been filled.

Minimum Requirements:
Education: Graduation from an accredited medical school and completed accredited radiology residency program. Equivalent training for those physicians who are not U.S. residency trained. New finishing residents generally are not expected to be boardcertified but should be boardcertified within a reasonable amount of time as determined by the Office of Medical Administration. Experience: Requirements will be determined on a positionbyposition basis.
Knowledge Skills & Abilities: Knowledge of and ability to apply professional medical principles and techniques. Thorough knowledge of pharmacological agents used in patient treatment. Able to effectively manage and direct medical staff support activities while providing quality medical care. Able to receive detailed information through oral communications; express or exchange ideas by verbal communications. Excellent written and verbal communications listening and social skills. Able to interact effectively with people of varied educational socioeconomic and ethnic backgrounds skill levels and value systems. Performs in a tactful and professional manner. A wide degree of creativity and latitude is expected. Relies on experience and judgment to plan and accomplish goals.
Certificate/License/Registration: Medical license to practice in State of Colorado. All physicians must be boardcertified within a reasonable amount of time as determined by the Office of Medical Administration. BLS/CPR. ACLS PALS or NRP as outlined in HR Principles and Practices #2110 Appendix maintaining licensures certifications and registrations. All certifications and licenses required for this job must be kept current as a condition of continued employment.

Knowledge of core diagnostic radiology principals
General skills related to the interpretation of general diagnostic radiology examinations as would be expected/required at the completion of a diagnostic radiology residency. Skills related to teaching medical students residents and other trainees.
Ability to work full shifts as assigned
Board eligible or Board certified in diagnostic radiology by the beginning of fellowship
Eligible to be on the medical staff at Denver Health and for a instructor fellow appointment at the University of Colorado School of Medicine
