Social Entrepreneurship Intern
Company Overview: Improve Your Tomorrow (IYT) was founded in 2013 with the mission to increase the number of young men of color (YMOC) to attend and graduate from colleges and universities. We envision a world where men of color are overrepresented in higher education underrepresented in the criminal justice system and leaders in their communities. Position Overview: The Social Entrepreneurship Intern (SEI) will work with IYTs CoFounder and CEO to develop and execute the CEOs priorities including but not limited to designing programs executing the strategic plan and supporting the Capital Campaigns. This role provides an opportunity to gain handson experience in social entrepreneurship and business development while working on impactful projects to advance IYTs mission.
Responsibilities include:
- Creating new school partnerships.
- Designing executing and scaling new programs.
- Implementing and executing the strategic plan and participating in senior leadership discussions.
- Conducting market research.
- Networking with potential partners.
- Raising funds.
- Managing projects.
- Additional duties as assigned.
Qualifications:
- Currently an active member of IYT U or IYT CC.
- Strong belief in the mission vision and values of IYT.
- Ability to successfully articulate the organization and program mission vision and values to stakeholders and collaborators.
- Strong communication skills that can inspire and motivate others to accomplish their goals.
- Ability to operate with an appropriate level of transparency and vulnerability engendering confidence and trust.
- Selfmotivation to achieve results.
- A multitasker with the ability to work under pressure.
- Ability to prioritize work meet deadlines and produce quality results.
Education:
- Undergraduate student in business social entrepreneurship or a related field.
Experience:
- Strong interest in social entrepreneurship.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
- Strong research and analytical skills.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
Computer Skills:
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite.
Schedule:
MondayFriday 8:30am5:00pm. Some weekends evenings and organizationwide events are required.
Pay Rate:
$16.50 per hour 40 hours per week.
Internship Timeline:
- Duration: 8 weeks from the start date in June.

Sacramento National HQ
