Job Description

Culinary Team MemberLincoln Academy Newcastle MaineMarch 13 2025Lincoln Academy in Newcastle ME seeks a fulltime Culinary Team Member. This is an immediate opening through theschool year. Founded in 1801 Lincoln Academy is an independent Town Academy deeply rooted in the midcoast communities of central Lincoln County. For 220 years we have served as an educational center for students from more than 15 towns in the region. In addition to our local students the school enrolls international and domestic boarding students. This results in an exciting mix of students and the school is committed to providing an outstanding education for each of them. The Culinary Team Member will assist the Culinary Services Director with responsibilities related to food preparation serving meals and dining commons/kitchen sanitization. This position requires weekday shift work 6 AM to 2:30 PM and 10:30 AM to 7 PM. Essential Duties include but are not limited to the following:Assist with food preparationAssist with serving meals to students and residentsThe Culinary Team Member shall have the following experience:High School diploma GED or equivalent experience Some dining service experience is desirable but not mandatoryWorking in a team environment a plusMust hold or obtain Maine CHRC authorizationPhysical Requirement and Work Environment:Ability to work in a standing position for long periods of time (up to 8 hours)Ability to reach bend stoop push and or pull and frequently lift up to 35 poundsMust have good verbal skills and be able to communicate with coworkers and the dining commons customers.Fulltime Culinary Team Members are eligible for generous benefits including: Health dental and vision insuranceVacation and sick leavePension and 403(b) plansFlexible spending accounts for medical and daycare expensesDirect deposit and moreLincoln Academy is an equal opportunity employer.
