The Arizona Department of Public Safety is seeking an experienced professional to join our team. The Budget Officer serves on the executive management team of the Department as the chief budget advisor. Represents the Department on fiscal issues with state legislative and executive entities and other governmental agencies. Plans and directs the management of the Departments fiscal resources and budgetary processes. Performs related duties as required. This position is designated asuncovered; the incumbent serves at the pleasure of the Director of the Department of Public Safety.
Requires a bachelors degree from an accredited college or university with a major in business or public administration finance accounting or closely related fieldANDeight 8 years of increasingly responsible professional experience in accounting budgeting and finance including two 2 years of supervisory experience and three 3 years of direct interaction with governmental entities. Graduatelevel education and training in a related field may substitute for up to two 2 years of the required experience.
NOTE: One 1 year of work experience is equivalent to thirty 30 semester hours of course work from an accredited college or university.
WORKING CONDITIONS/ADDITIONAL REQUIREMENTS:
Office setting.
May be required to work extended hours.
