FLSA CLASSIFICATION: NonExempt
REPORTS TO: Vehicle or Equipment Maintenance Manager
POSITIONS SUPERVISED: None
TRAVEL REQUIRED: 5
WORK SCHEDULE: Day Shift
SALARY RANGE:$25 $33 per hour
POSITION SUMMARY
The mechanic will be responsible for inspection diagnosis repair and service of construction equipment and vehicles and other duties as assigned.
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS
- Inspects diagnoses and services company equipment and vehicles.
- Examines equipment and oversees diagnostic tests to determine functionality problems.
- Performs other related duties as assigned.
POSITION QUALIFICATIONS
- High school diploma or any combination of education and professional experience that would meet the responsibilities listed above.
- Two years of experience in a similar role and trade certification is preferred.
- Experience with cranes and/or other heavy construction equipment is preferred.
- Thorough knowledge of internal combustion engines hydraulic systems and electrical oneline diagrams with an ability to read and understand their diagrams.
- Capable of taking direction and working in a team environment.
- Strong attention to detail with a desire to problem solve.
WORK ENVIRONMENT
Primarily a mechanic shop environment.
