Chief Division of Pediatric Nephrology
The Department of Pediatrics at the University of Florida is seeking candidates to join an active and collegial group to serve as Division Chief of Pediatric Nephrology. The division provides inpatient services at UF Health Shands Childrens Hospital ranked #1 Childrens Hospital in Florida in theU.S. News & World Report. Our pediatric nephrology program provides services to infants children adolescents and young adults with all forms of acute and chronic congenital and acquired kidney diseases. Our team offers expertise in the care of young children with renal failure and patients with complex renal abnormalities who require dialysis and transplantation. These include infants children and adolescents with a variety of bladder and kidney problems patients with hypertension and electrolyte abnormalities and the assessment of pregnant women carrying a fetus with a renal abnormality noted on ultrasound. Physicians over the entire tristate area call for consultations as do the faculty of the University of Florida Health Science Center who need joint consultative care of the complex pediatric problems. Additionally UF Health Pediatrics has a history of educational excellence and promoting research interests. The division chief will be responsible for cultivating an environment that advances the strong clinical research and educational missions of UF Health. The Division of Pediatric Nephrology consists of 3 pediatric nephrologists 2 nephrology fellows 1 advanced practitioner and dedicated Nephrology nursing and administrative support.

UF Health Shands Childrens Hospital represents the only quaternarycare academic pediatric center in North Florida. The Department of Pediatrics is committed to fostering innovation and advancing discovery in the biomedical and psychosocial aspects of child health and human development educating and training pediatric scientists and directly translating basic scientific discoveries into new patientoriented therapies. In the most recent fiscal year the department was home to over $30.5M in sponsored research.
UF Health faculty work in multidisciplinary teams with researchers in the five other Health Science Center colleges as well as those from across the University. Applicants must have an M.D degree or equivalent. Candidates must be board certified in Pediatric Nephrology and at the Associate/Professor level.
The Department of Pediatrics seeks a dynamic passionate and capable physician leader with a proven track record across the spectrum of collaborative clinical leadership administrative experience program development faculty recruitment and community engagement. A distinguished record of innovative leadership scholarly accomplishments and excellence in administration is sought. Management education or training is highly desired.
