Yale Medical School and YaleNew Haven Hospital are seeking to expand their acute neuroscience program with the addition of one neurointensivist. This position is supported by the Division of Neurocritical Care and Emergency Neurology and will be tailored to match the overall career interests of the individual. The neurointensivist will perform clinical duties across the health system including the 1 Neurosciences ICU 2 Medical and Surgical ICUs in the multidisciplinary care of arrest and traumatic brain injury and 3 ICUs at our delivery network through our teleNICU consult program.
The Yale Neurosciences Program is an internationally recognized multidisciplinary program that brings together clinicians and investigators through strong collaborations with Neurocritical Care Epilepsy Vascular Neurology Neurosurgery Emergency Medicine and Neuroradiology. The Neuroscience ICU at the Yale New Haven Hospital is a thriving cutting edge 19bed unit poised for further expansion. We employ the most advanced technologies including a nationally recognized continuous ICU EEG program the first portable MRI system in the world and an active noninvasive and invasive advanced neuromonitoring program. Our core team is comprised of neuroscience nurses advanced practice providers as well as a neuropharmacist and multidisciplinary trainees at all levels. In addition we train six neurocritical care fellows in an ACME accredited program and our team consists of clinical and scientific leaders across a breadth of disciplines that are relevant for neurocritical care.
The essential duties of this position include 1 diagnosing and caring for inpatients with neurocritical and neurosurgical issues 2 teaching medical students APPs residents and fellows and 3 participating in academic activities.We are committed to an open fair and inclusive work culture and environment where everyone is welcome and supported. Candidates must have an MD or equivalent and be board certified/board eligible in Neurology and have completed a fellowship in Neurocritical Care. Applicants must meet the criteria for medical licensure in the State of Connecticut. Faculty rank will be consistent with experience.
The successful candidate will be an excellent clinician and educator capable of leading a large team of students residents fellows and advanced nurse practitioners/physician assistants from Yale Medical School and Yale NewHaven Hospital. They will enjoy collaborations with colleagues in other critical care units as well as attention to patient centered care patient outcomes and quality improvement supported by a robust institutional infrastructure. We are interested in recruiting individuals who have a track record of excellence and pursue it relentlessly in whatever domains they choose to develop.
