Job description:
On behalf of our client we are looking for a Senior Project Manager who will be responsible for and will support the Department of Labor (DOL) Unemployment Insurance (UI) modernization project.
Roles and Responsibilities:
Agile Software Development Missioncritical application support experience required
Responsible for implementing Agile values and best practices ensuring the practical use of Agile processes
Devise an Agilebased strategy to improve time and cost efficiencies for each project during the life of the contract
Serve as the primary interface to client stakeholders and manages multiple internal business and technical resources
Implement a communication strategy to measure progress and broadcast project status to all appropriate personnel
Develop and maintain project plans utilizing Microsoft Project
Along with other project resources lead meetings with project sponsors collect and document requirements into a formalized requirements document
Assist in the creation and review of projectrelated design implementation testing and user guide documentation
Develop project cost estimates schedules and manage project budgets
Participate in peer code reviews
Ensure the generation of highquality work products on time delivery and under budget
Capture meeting minutes to include new requirements and areas for improvement during all meetings
Remain up to date on all current best practices trends and industry developments.
Requirements
Required Skills:
Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Project Visio and MS Office Products for tracking and presenting project metrics and status
Excellent people skills and ability to empathize with staff and clients and a genuine desire to solve their technical problems demonstrates a gentle touch with clients team and executive management
Ability to lead through influence; negotiate and gain consensus between clients and team
Able to manage urgent deliverables and issues methodically in a calm manner
Excellent verbal and written communication skills
A resourceful true selfstarter cando attitude leader
Strong software development knowledge.
Qualifications:
Bachelors Degree in Business Computer Science or Engineering or a directly related field
A minimum of 5 years of experience as a customerfacing Project Manager
Experience supervising technical staff managing budgets and timelines
Experience in Agile methodologies.
Experience with Business Analyst duties (requirements testing training)
Excellent written and oral communication presentation and customer service skills
Active Project Management Professional Certification
Experience with JIRA Confluence SmartSheet LucidChart and XMind
Experience managing development projects that utilize Agile business process workflows
One or more of the following certifications: PMIPMP (Project Management Professional) PMIACP (Agile Certified Practitioner) SAFe Scrum Master CSM (Certified Scrum Master) Certified Agile Leader Advanced Practitioner
Experience working in a government client environment is strongly preferred
Covid vaccination is required.
Ability to obtain federal clearance.
