Electronics Technician

The position will be onsite based at the GTI Energy Headquarters in Des Plaines Illinois located in the Chicagoland area.

This position is within a group of engineers and scientists that bring technological solutions to gas and energy markets. The candidate must be able to apply engineering practices to the construction and testing of complex instrumentation systems. The candidate must be able to work within the structure of an overall project team while being able to work independently on subtasks. Position responsibilities include but are not limited to:

• Interpret documents electrical drawings and/or P&ID describing instrumentation systems.
• Assist/perform construction of instrumentation panels and assemblies.
• Install sensors in piping or HVAC systems using documentation as guidance.
• Mark up documentation to reflect the asbuilt system.
• Perform other duties as assigned.

• Familiarity with P&ID and electrical drawing symbology as per ANSI standards.
• Experience with wiring industrial control systems or data acquisition systems.
• Familiarity with safe wiring practices cable routing DIN rail assemblies and wireways.

• Familiarity with physical setup and connection of instrumentation
• Knowledge of electrical area hazard classification systems
• Proficiency with laboratory bench instrumentation and prototype construction is a plus

• Associates degree in electronics or equivalent certifications.
• Minimum of 3 years handson experience in instrumentation and data acquisition.

The salary range for this position is $46000 $56000 annually. This salary range is GTI Energys good faith estimate and the actual salary may vary based on a number of factors including but not limited to GTI Energys business or organizational needs and an individuals relevant experience education qualifications certifications skills seniority geographic location and/or performance. Compensation details listed in this posting reflect the base hourly rate monthly rate or annual salary only and do not include bonus. The range listed is just one component of GTI Energys total compensation package for employees. Other rewards may include annual bonuses paid time off and regionspecific benefits.
