Essential Duties And Responsibilities
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES include the following. Other duties may be assigned. Lab Support: 1. Provide guidance and support to faculty staff and students on proper usage of lab equipment tools and machinery located within the Lab and College of Engineering building. 2. Ensure all Lab activities comply with safety protocols and regulations. 3. Maintain a clean and organized Lab environment. 4. Prepare purchase and arrange materials samples and components required for course instruction and projects. 5. Assist faculty members and students in setting up and conducting lab instruction and course projects. 6. Ensure the proper storage record and disposal of Lab materials including hazardous waste. Equipment Maintenance: 7. Conduct routine maintenance and calibration troubleshooting and repairs on Lab equipment tools and machinery. 8. Coordinate with external vendors and service providers for specialized equipment repairs and maintenance. 9. Ensure proper functioning of equipment by performing regular inspections and calibrations including showers and eye wash stations throughout the Lab and College of Engineering building. 10. Maintain an inventory of Lab equipment tools and supplies and initiate purchasing when necessary. Collaboration and Training: 11. Collaborate with faculty members staff and fellow technicians to optimize Lab processes and workflows. 12. Collaborate with faculty to develop and train students on Lab equipment usage safety procedures and techniques. 13. Support faculty members in the development and implementation of new Lab instruction and projects including staffing open Lab hours to meet course and project requirements. 14. Assist in the preparation and updating of Lab manuals standard operating procedures (SOPs) and safety guidelines. 15. Maintain compliance with ABET related lab requirements.
