Front Office Assistant - CPG East Hills Primary Care

Essential Responsibilities:

Greets patients and families and politely in accordance with CPG guidelines.

Obtains and verifies all insurance demographic and financial information during the registration process and enters/updates the information in

the registration system in compliance with all regulations.

Answer telephones.

Schedule appointments.

Completes medical necessity screening on services and provides appropriate notification to patients.

Maintains confidentiality standards in dealing with patients families and follows customer services along with the CPG Visionand Values.

Receive and process messages from providers/clinical staff through inbasket and patients through My Chart system in Epicand the telephone.

Check out patients and schedule followup appointments referrals and diagnostic tests.

Obtain authorizations for diagnostic tests and referrals.

Collect and identifies copays deductibles coinsurance selfpayments and past due balances at the time of service and postto patients

account.

Scan outside test results to the order within patients chart.

Process and route incoming faxes mail and interoffice correspondence to physician/physicians and midlevel providers forsign off.

Scan signed off faxes mail and interoffice correspondence into patients record.

Process medical record requested through Ciox.

End of day process including balancing cash drawer taking deposits to the bank and sending deposit information to thefinance department.

Work queues (Charge Review Claim Edit Patient Referrals and Schedule Orders) are to be worked daily.

Print appointment report for the next day.

Control drug representative traffic flow.

Maintain supplies.

Turn phones over at the end of the day.

Job Qualifications:
Education:

Required:High School Diploma.

Preferred:Certification of Medical Secretary Medical Office Assistant or MedicalOffice Technician.

Experience:

Preferred:At least 35 years experience in a medical office setting.

Certification/Licensure/Registration:

Preferred:Certification of a Medical Secretary MOA or MOT; CPR certification.

This ensures quality health care and patient satisfaction to meet the needs of patient care. Patient carewillrange from children to geriatrics. Travel to Ebandjieff clinic as needed for coverage
