This role will be located in our San Francisco Office preferably.

About the Role

We are looking for a highly experienced and visionaryDirector of Engineering to lead our engineering teams in building scalable robust and highimpact products. This role will drive engineering strategy and team development ensuring we continue to innovate and lead in the proptech space.

What Youll Need

  • 10 years of experience in software engineering with at least 5 years in a leadership role.

  • Proven track record of leading large engineering teams and delivering complex highimpact projects.

  • Strong background in modern software development practices cloud technologies and scalable architectures.

  • Experience working in a highgrowth technologydriven company preferably within proptech fintech or marketplace businesses.

  • Exceptional problemsolving skills strategic thinking and ability to balance technical depth with business priorities.

  • Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills.

  • Experience with datadriven decisionmaking and experimentation.

What Youll Do

  • Provide strategic technical leadership defining and executing the engineering roadmap in alignment with business objectives.

  • Lead mentor and grow highperforming engineering teams fostering a culture of innovation ownership and collaboration.

  • Oversee the development and deployment of scalable highquality software solutions that enhance user experience and drive business growth.

  • Collaborate crossfunctionally with product design data science and operations teams to deliver innovative solutions.

  • Establish and implement best practices for software development system architecture security and DevOps.

  • Drive engineering excellence through metrics KPIs and continuous process improvements.

  • Manage technical debt ensuring longterm sustainability and scalability of our systems.

  • Stay ahead of industry trends and emerging technologies leveraging them to drive Opendoors competitive advantage.

Compensation

Our compensation reflects the cost of labor across several U.S. geographic markets and we pay differently based on those defined markets. Base pay is one part of our total compensation package and is determined within a range. This provides the opportunity to progress as you grow and develop within a role. The U.S. pay range for this positionis $annually. Paywithin this range varies by work locationand may also depend on your qualifications jobrelated knowledge skillsand experience. Your recruiter can share more about the specific salary range for the job location during the hiring process. We also offer a comprehensive package of benefits including paid time off 12 paid holidays per year medical/dental/vision insurance basic life insurance and 401(k) to eligible employees.
