Part-Time Driver for Senior Community

POSITION:

The Driver is responsible for providing safe timely andcourteous transportation for residents to and from various activities whileproviding quality service.

This is a PARTTIME POSITION WITH VARYING DAYSAFTERNOON/EVENING HOURS

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:

1. Operates company vehicle(s) safely on outingsexcursions special activities and personal resident appointments.

2. Confirms transportation schedule and appointments withthe Business Office.

3. Assists residents with any special needs duringtransportation; such as carrying packages opening doors assisting residentsonto and out of the vehicle and to the point of destination.

4. Secures passengers wheelchairs walkers and otherequipment to restraining devices to stabilize equipment during trip.

5. Keeps vehicle(s) clean and sanitary and in goorating condition. Keeps exterior of vehicle(s) clean and presentable.

6. Accurately following routes maps and directions.

7. Complies with standards and processes for proper vehicleinspection and driving. Completes daily maintenance checks on vehicle(s) bychecking all fluid levels lights turn signals parking brake fuel etc.Notifies department Director of any unsafe conditions.

8. Maintains mileage and gas logs as well as vehicleinspection logs.

9. Follows all state and federal laws when operating thecompany vehicles.

10. Practices/demonstrates safe driving habits at alltimes. Observes speed limits yet is still punctual and safe in transportingpeople.

11. Immediately reports delays and/or accidents todepartment Director.

12. Provides miscellaneous pickup and delivery services asneeded.

Acts as a member of the activity staff when onoutings/excursions and at the facility as needed

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:

1. Must be 18 years of age or older.

2.High school diploma or equivalent required.

3. Must possess a current California Class B Commercial Drivers Licensewith Passenger endorsement and a clean driving record.

4. First aid and CPR certification. Must obtain within90days of employment.

5. Able to follow verbal directions read maps follow GPS

6. Must be knowledgeable of all safety precautions andcomply with safety procedures.

7. Ability to react calmly in emergency situations and beconsiderate.

8. Ability to operate a chair lift and secure regular andmechanical wheelchairs and scooters.

9. Ability to work semiindependently without directsupervision by following all Casa de Modesto procedures and the ability tofollow through on assigned tasks and demonstrate initiative.

10. Ability to read write and communicate to residentsstaff families vendors and all business relationships in English language.

11. Ability to pass a criminal background clearance checkphysical and TB test.

12. Must be able to communicate with all levels of staff inan effective neutral and professional manner.

13. Ability to function as a member of the team in amultitask environment.

14. Must be flexible and able to handle multiplepriorities with the ability to adjust to high pressure and changingconditions.

Job Type: Parttime

Salary: $17.00 $20.00 per hour
