Job Description
Heritage Urgent & Primary Care is seeking a Medical Assistant to join our team. Our mission is to provide a patient centered health care delivery system that promotes excellence in health care the prevention of disease and patient empowerment through education. We are seeking candidates that display excellent teamwork accountability and will successfully function within a high performing organization.
This position works collaboratively with the administrative department and with the total practice to provide timely proficient services for all patients by performing the following duties. We are certified as a Level III Patient CenteredMedical Home and a BCBS NC Blue Quality Physician Program practice.
Duties may include but not limited to:
- Preparing patients for exams
- Assisting for exams and treatments
- Organizing daily flow of patients
- Handling appointments and calls
- Giving injections
- Holter Monitoring & EKGs
- Scheduling tests and obtaining prior authorizations
- Ordering labs pulmonary function tests bone density etc.
Education and/or Experience:
- Must have high school diploma or GED
- Applicants should have 1 years of related clinical experience as an MA (certified MA a plus)
- Must have knowledge of medical terminology and electronic medical records (EMR)
