Description

We are Nashvilles original community based hospital. Joint Commission accredited NGH readily accommodates a wide range of needs from emergency services and acute care to ancillary and ambulatory services. NGH continues to maintain its strong commitment to the healthcare needs of Nashville and Davidson County underserved while also providing care to all segments of the community

Key Responsibilities:

  • Perform diagnostic and therapeutic interventional cardiology procedures including coronary angiograms percutaneous coronary interventions (PCI) and other catheterbased procedures.
  • Collaborate with a multidisciplinary team including general cardiologists cardiac surgeons nurses and other healthcare professionals to ensure comprehensive patient care.
  • Evaluate patients with coronary artery disease myocardial infarction and other cardiovascular conditions providing appropriate interventional treatments.
  • Interpret diagnostic tests such as EKGs stress tests and echocardiograms to formulate treatment plans.
  • Participate in the oncall rotation for emergency interventional cardiology services including management of STelevation myocardial infarctions (STEMI).
  • Provide preprocedural and postprocedural patient care and consultation.
  • Educate patients and their families on cardiovascular disease prevention treatment options and postprocedure recovery.
  • Contribute to quality improvement initiatives and stay current with the latest advancements in interventional cardiology.

Qualifications:

  • Medical degree (MD or DO) from an accredited institution.
  • Board certification or eligibility in Interventional Cardiology.
  • Fellowship training in Interventional Cardiology from an accredited program.
  • Valid state medical license to practice as a cardiologist.
  • Experience in coronary angioplasty stent placement and other percutaneous interventions.
  • Strong knowledge of cardiovascular diseases anatomy and interventional techniques.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to work effectively in a teambased environment.
  • Commitment to delivering highquality patientcentered care.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Experience in structural heart disease interventions (e.g. TAVR MitraClip) is a plus.
  • Active involvement in clinical research or teaching.
