The Licensed Practical Nurse works under the direction of a Registered Nurse and provides nursing and palliative care to assigned hospice patients. Demonstrates the core nursing competencies established by the agency to ensure effective and efficient care on an ongoing basis.

Responsibilities

  • Participates in coordination of hospice services appropriately reporting the identified needs to the interdisciplinary group.
  • Provides appropriate pain/symptom management/evaluates patients response to treatments/medications.
  • Performs other duties as assigned by the registered nurse.

Qualifications

  • Graduate of an accredited practical nurse or vocational nursing program.
  • Community health/hospice is preferred but willing to train the right candidate.
  • Currently licensed as an LPN/LVN in the State of Arizona.
  • Complies with accepted professional standards and practice.
  • Demonstrates good verbal and written communication and organization skills.
  • Must be a licensed driver with an automobile that is insured in accordance with state and/or organization requirements and is in good working order.
  • Possesses and maintains current CPR certification.
