SUMMARY:
The Project Engineer will be a key member of the Bryant Construction Management Team in our Landover MD office where he/she will provide technical engineering information to contractors in support of the successful completion of projects for a wide range of public and private sector clients.
JOB DESCRIPTION:
The Project Engineer will with limited supervision will provide technical information to contractors to ensure that projects comply with all engineering standards codes specifications and design instructions.
RESPONSIBILITIES: (OTHER DUTIES MAY BE ASSIGNED)
Reviews analyzes and resolves field construction problems discrepancies and interferences with architect/engineer owner and specialty contractors on a daily basis
Responsible for document control submittals quality control and safety observances
Monitors fieldwork and works with contractor to ensure compliance maintenance of schedule and adherence budget
Attend and participate in project coordination meetings
Track and enforce project schedule as it relates to submittals performance of project work and close out
REQUIRED SKILLS & ABILITIES:
Ability to read and interpret engineering plans and construction documents
Excellent written and oral communication skills
Detail oriented
Strong interpersonal skills. Able to build and maintain strong relationships
Exceptional project management and organizational skills
Problem solver
Must be flexible and able to work in a fast paced environment
Desire to work in a team environment
Observes company and client safety requirements
Must have a valid drivers license and ability to pass a driving record check
Ability to pass a background check for certain clients (e.g. WSSC)
EDUCATION AND/OR EXPERIENCE
BS in Construction Management or Civil Engineering
5 years of Construction Management experience and PE license or ability to PE license within the first year of employment
COMPUTER SKILLS
Proficient in CM14 or other construction management software
Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite (Word Excel Outlook)
AutoCad Civil 3D proficiently a plus
SUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILITIES

TRAVEL:
Local travel to job sites and client meetings as required
