Job Description

Location: Newark Ohio
Department: Stamping
Reports to: Business Support Manager
Shift: First Shift: Monday Friday 6am 2:30pm
JOB SUMMARY
This tool room position is responsible for leading the daily projects and activities assigned to the toolroom. Prioritizes project based on schedule monitors and reports project progress data controls fabrication and repair activities within the toolroom to ensure high quality accuracy timeliness safety and acceptable cost. Leads the activities of other employees through technical knowledge and sound decisionmaking abilities to support product quality and ensure customer satisfaction.

- Works with QC Team to resolve any quality issues.
- Works with lead operator on his/her shift as a leadership team.
- Give directions to toolmakers/tool setters concerning job priorities.
- Provides timely and complete communication with crossfunctional teams regarding quality operational and scheduling issues.
- Orders spare tooling as needed
- Maintains proper storage for new and existing tooling.
- Manages tool room equipment operation to ensure accuracy and safety
- Trains and develops departmental team on press operation tooling maintenance and leads employees in Continuous Improvement Programs.
- Ensures toolmakers are monitoring and maintaining proper machine operations and makes recommendations for safe operating practices.
- Supports machine setups and changeovers and performs machine troubleshooting as needed.
- Partners with production engineering and NPD department leaders on projects and deliverables
- Ensures work product reliability and quality standards and works with Safety Quality Delivery and Cost (SQDC) in mind.
- Communicates any/all technical issues with manager daily.
QUALIFICATIONS
- Oneyear prior leadership experience preferably in a manufacturing setting.
- 510 years demonstrated metal forming experience. Familiarity with tool design and fabrication
- Strong organizational and communication skills.
- Can work successfully in a team environment and is able to both lead and take direction from others
- Computer proficientMicrosoft Windows based computer operation.
- Understanding of tool tolerance and form quality requirements
- Certified journeyman or apprentice toolmaker with five years experience.
- Ability to handle all aspects of metal forming from print to production.
- Ability to use all manual tool room equipment including cutting heat treat and grinding.
- Strong mechanical background.
- Able to read blueprints.
- Experience with deep drawn metal products in highspeed transfer presses and/or cosmetic parts.
- Can work overtime and weekends when required.
- Ability to lift/push/pull/carry up to 50 pounds consistently
- Must be able to work overtime or alternate schedules as needed sometimes on short notice or on weekends.
