Invites applications for Permanent FullTime Journeyperson Mechanic

Location:

GSSD Central

Assignment/Contract:

8 hours a day Permanent Full time

The Good Spirit School Division is currently seeking a Journeyperson Mechanic whose responsible for general repair and maintenance of the school divisions fleet vehicles.

Schedule : This position isPermanent FullTime of 40 hours a week. The successful candidate will report directly tothe Shop Supervisor.

Term : To commence on January 20 2025 or a mutually agreed upon date.

Qualifications:

  • Valid Drivers license.
  • Journeyperson Certification in Mechanics
  • Minimum 3 years experience

  • Ability to adapt to change and be flexible
  • Have superior interpersonal and communication skills and be able to communicate professionally
  • Have specialized knowledge to perform maintenance and repairs.
  • Foster a positive attitude and represent the school division in a professional and businesslike demeanor
  • Diplomatic and ability to handle highly sensitive and confidential information relating to employees students or the operation of the school division.

Responsibilities and Duties:

  • General repair and maintenance of the Division bus fleet.
  • Complete mechanical duties to industry standards.
  • Assist in the completion of safety inspections.
  • Complete regular services on buses and other divisionowned vehicles.
  • Assist in cleaning and organizing the garage.
  • Additional duties as outlined in the Job Description Mechanic document available on our website.

Salary and Benefits :

As per the Out of Scope Salary Schedule $71206$78991 range per annum dependent on qualifications) and Out of Scope Benefit Plan. Pension is also included; this deduction is 9 of the regular salary earned with contributions matched by the Division.
