Who You Are:
Galaxy is looking for a Senior Network Engineer with strong background in lowlatency trading networks needed to help design build and support nationwide & global trading networks. This role is responsible for Network and Security Management emergency response design and deployment of new technology and processes that would contribute to cost savings and/or productivity improvements.
What Youll Do:
- Responsible for working and collaborating with network engineering team on new and existing networking projects reporting to IT management
- Work with infrastructure and trading support teams on various connectivity projects and troubleshooting
- Will be responsible for maintenance configuration and troubleshooting of routers switches firewalls and WAN circuits in and between financial collocations of existing and new locations
- Network performance and scalability testing. Create support documentation and reports
- Maintain and Develop SNMP/Network monitoring tools improve performance stability and redundancy of existing networks
- Work with carrier on circuit outages and new installs. Work with data center remote hands at various colocations
- Oncall and weekend work. Must be willing to work first second and occasional 3rd shifts
What Were Looking For:
- Bachelors degree in computer engineering or related field experience
- Experience with Arista/Cisco routing/switching OSPF/BGP and low latency network designs
- In depth knowledge of multicast routing process and troubleshooting low latency network design optimizations and recommendations is a must
- WAN/Carrier technologies including background in optical/DWDM dark fiber solutions 10Gb ethernet firewall security and VPN
- 5 years experience of design implementation maintenance & troubleshooting of lowlatency trading networks
- 3 years experience integrating and maintaining cloud platform networks (AWS GPC Azure etc. and managing network configurations as code
