Job Description
General Summary: We are seeking experienced and dependable bus drivers to join our team. In this role you will be responsible for transporting passengers along designated routes in a safe and timely manner. You must adhere to all traffic laws and company regulations while providing excellent customer service to our passengers.
Qualifications:
- Education:
- High School Diploma or equivalent
- Training and Experience:
- CDL preferred but not required willing to train
Essential Job Functions:
- Safely Transporting Students: Driving a school bus and ensuring the safe transportation of students to and from school field trips and other activities.
- Following Traffic Laws: Adhering strictly to traffic laws and school bus regulations to ensure the safety of passengers and other road users.
- Vehicle Maintenance: Conducting routine inspections and maintenance checks on the bus to ensure it is safe and in good working condition.
- Emergency Procedures: Knowing and implementing emergency procedures in case of accidents breakdowns or other emergencies.
- Communication: Maintaining effective communication with students parents school staff and transportation authorities.
- Monitoring Students: Ensuring that students behave appropriately and safely while on the bus maintaining discipline when necessary.
- Route Familiarity: Being familiar with the assigned route and ensuring timely arrival and departure from stops.
- Paperwork and Documentation: Completing required paperwork such as daily logs incident reports and mileage records.
- Training and Development: Participating in ongoing training and development programs related to driving skills safety procedures and student management.
Directly Responsible To:
- Director of Transportation
Terms of Employment:
- Follows the Transportation Collective Bargaining Agreement
Evaluation:
- Annually by the Director of Transportation
