Job Description

SPECIAL PROCEDURES TECH INTERVENTIONAL RADIOLOGY

Located in the Charleston SC area this hospital is ready to hire a Special Procedures Tech Interventional Radiology to join their staff of medical professionals.

OVERVIEW OF RESPONSIBILITIES:
  • Follow established protocol and under the medical supervision of certified radiologists
  • Perform procedures for the direct results of interpretation.
Assist the radiologists on procedures as needed and be responsible for supervision of student Radiologic Technologists assigned to them.
EDUCATION:
  • Graduate of an accredited school of Allied Health Professionals.
EXPERIENCE:
  • 2 years of work experience as an Imaging Technologist or 6 months of demonstrated clinical work experience as a Special Procedures/Vascular Interventional Radiology Technologist.
LICENSURE/CERTIFICATION:
  • Registered in Radiologic Technology by the American Registry of Radiology Technologists (ARRT).
  • Preferred completion of an accredited Vascular Interventional Radiology Program and ARRT registered in VI Radiology.
  • Must have a current American Heart Association BLS for Healthcare Provider Card. Certified or documentation that certification has been applied for with the SCRQSA.
KNOWLEDGE/SKILLS:
  • Must have strong interpersonal and communication skills. Must have demonstrated ability to perform and teach Special Procedures exams to produce satisfactory diagnostic films for interpretation.
  • Knowledge of OSHA DHEC FDA and TJC standards and regulations.
  • Responsible for safe operation of Special Procedures and processing equipment.
  • Ability to operate standard office equipment.
