Job Description
We are seeking a motivated and eager Apprentice Electrician to join our team on a major commercial construction project. This is an excellent opportunity for individuals looking to gain handson experience in the electrical trade under the guidance of experienced Journeyman Electricians. The Apprentice Electrician will assist in the installation maintenance and repair of electrical systems while learning the trade in a realworld setting.
Key Responsibilities:
- Assist in Electrical Installations: Support Journeyman Electricians in installing wiring conduits switchgear and lighting fixtures in compliance with electrical codes.
- Learn & Apply Electrical Techniques: Gain practical experience by working alongside skilled electricians learning how to read blueprints schematics and understand electrical systems.
- Support Maintenance & Repairs: Help in diagnosing and fixing electrical issues learning how to identify problems and apply solutions.
- Material Handling: Assist in the organization setup and transport of electrical materials tools and equipment on the job site.
- Compliance: Follow all safety protocols regulations and company policies ensuring a safe working environment for yourself and others.
- Documentation: Help with maintaining accurate records of electrical work performed including installations and repairs.
- Safety Awareness: Wear appropriate personal protective equipment (PPE) at all times and participate in safety training sessions.
- Team Collaboration: Work closely with other apprentices journeymen and site personnel to ensure smooth project operations and learning opportunities.
Qualifications:
- Education: High school diploma or GED equivalent. Enrollment in a recognized electrical apprenticeship program is preferred.
- Interest in Electrical Work: A strong desire to learn the electrical trade and develop skills in the field of civil construction.
- Basic Knowledge: Familiarity with basic electrical concepts and tools is a plus but not required.
- Physical Requirements: Ability to perform physically demanding tasks including lifting climbing and working in various weather conditions.
- Attention to Detail: A keen eye for detail ensuring work is performed safely and correctly.
- Willingness to Learn: Open to receiving constructive feedback and eager to grow in the electrical trade.
Certification: OSHA 10 certification is preferred but can be obtained on the job.
