T. Baker Smith seeks a driven Survey Project Manager preferably licensed (P.L.S) to join our dynamic and growing team Houma. This is an opportunity to plan design and direct various projects from a technical aspect.
Your Opportunity:
- Responsible for administering surveying activities which include oversight of manpower technical resources safety and client communication for multiple projects.
- Lead the technical aspects of projects with nonroutine and complex assignments.
- Creates reviews and certifies survey documents and legal records.
- Preparation and of QA/QC deliverables manage projects and supervise technicians.
- Collaborates with project teams to develop deliverables which are incorporated into the project.
- Actively participate in client meetings and industry events to strengthen our existing client base and service offerings bring in new clients and identify opportunities for growth within the markets that we serve.
- Share weekly progress and status reports on project deliverables to all project stakeholders and team associates.
Desired Qualifications and Skills:
- Bachelors degree in geomatics/surveying or a related field (cartography computer science civil engineering geography and others).
- A surveying license (P.L.S) in Louisiana with 15 yrs. of relevant experience.
- Proficiency in volume calculation cross section generation and property boundary work.
- Ability to operate computer using technical software. Experience in Hypack ArcGIS software systems oil & gas pipeline survey and migration/transformation of spatial data from different sources a plus.
- Proficient in AutoCAD Carlson survey software and Trimble Business Center software.
Physical Qualifications and Work Environment:
- Frequent standing walking while carrying equipment possibly through rugged terrain.
- Operating and riding in varying types of boats.
- balance stoop kneel and lift up to 50 pounds; use hands to operate handle maneuver and/or manipulate objects tools or controls.
- reach with hands and arms; use manual dexterity to operate equipment; talk and hear.
- Specific vision abilities required by the job include close vision distance vision color vision peripheral vision depth perception and the ability to adjust focus.
- Duties are generally outdoors and are exposed to the weather.
- Associates ride in boats and are frequently exposed to the noise dust smells and other environmental factors present in such situations.
- Nights away from home may be required.
