Location:127th Street Apartments 550 W. 127th Street Los Angeles CA 90044
Setting:100 Onsite
Schedule:Monday Friday 8am 4:30pm

SUMMARY:
The Housing Supportive Services Program (HSSP) is a specialized program that provides comprehensive and intensive fieldbased community mental health services designed to meet the unique needs of individuals in Permanent Supportive Housing (PSH) who are formerly homeless and have a Severe Mental Illness (SMI) or Serious Emotional Disturbance (SED). As part of a multidisciplinary team the Clinician will conduct psychotherapy with adult members that have severe and persistent mental illness in the office in members homes or the field. The Clinicians primary responsibilities are to engage members and to coordinate mental health and recovery services that will ensure housing stability and community integration. This position is responsible for maintaining the highest quality provision of direct individual and group therapeutic services and case management services while fostering teamwork among staff and across departments and programs.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
- Provide coordinate and implement mental health and recovery support services with individual members
- Conduct individual family and group psychotherapy
- Develop effective trusting relationships with members with a focus on facilitating independence and maintenance of improved physical and mental health
- Collaborate with each member to develop their individual service plan; review and update it upon completion of goals
- Assist management and other Clinicians with program evaluation and modification for future program improvements and growth
- Assist members with becoming involved in daily activities socialization health maintenance sense of community and progress in recovery reflective of The People Concerns model which emphasizes customer choice harm reduction and psychosocial rehabilitation
- Work cooperatively and cohesively with other members of the HSSP team including participation in weekly staff meetings group clinical supervision and trainings
- Develop and maintain a complete accurate and current member file with all funderrequired documents
Qualifications:
- Masters degree in Social Work Psychology or a related field of study from an accredited university.
- Valid registration or licensure with the California Board of Behavioral Sciences.
- Current valid California Drivers with an acceptable driving record and reliable vehicle
- Able to transport members in your vehicle
- Outstanding clinical and strong teambuilding skills
- Detailoriented with excellent time management organizational written verbal and computer skills
- BBS registered (preferred) or BBS eligible in CA
- Experience with unhoused population experience responding to/assessing for crisis
- Bilingual
Work Environment:
- Combination of field and office environment
- Regularly required to sit stand bend; occasionally lift or carry up to 35 lbs.
- On occasion walk or drive to different local sites
- Will necessitate working in busy and loud environments
- Will be exposed to elements like cold heat dust noise and odor
- May need to bend stoop twist and sit throughout the day
