The Department of Psychological Sciences at Tarleton State University invites applications for a clinical faculty position in the area of School Psychology at the Assistant Associate or Full Professor rank. This position reports to the Department Head in the Department of Psychological Sciences. This is a 9month nontenuretrack position with primary teaching responsibilities on Tarletons main campus in Stephenville Texas. Summer appointment is dependent upon need and funding availability. Work hours: MonFri; 8 AM5 PM or as work and teaching requirements indicate. May be required to teach at other campuses or online at the institutions discretion. Must have the ability to work remotely at the request of the university in times of inclement weather or other special circumstances. This position is not eligible for Visa sponsorship.
The successful candidate will be expected to demonstrate excellence and innovation in teaching mentor both undergraduate and graduate students and participate in the necessary operation of the institution. The position carries a 4/4 teaching load and involves instructing undergraduate and graduate courses in clinical psychology including psychological tests and measurements abnormal psychology and child psychopathology. The role will support the new Specialist in School Psychology degree program* and the candidate will also teach doctorallevel courses including those in psychometrics and human development to support the new Ph.D. in Experimental Psychology.
*The Specialist in School Psychology degree program has been approved by THECB and is pending approval by the Southern Association of Colleges and Schools Commission on Colleges set to launch in Spring 2025.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
80 Teaching and Service:
Plan prepare and deliver lectures seminars and/or laboratory offerings to undergraduate and/or graduate students which may include general education core curriculum.
Develop course syllabi select instructional materials and design assessments such as exams quizzes papers etc.
Assess student performance provide timely feedback and evaluate student learning outcomes to inform teaching practices and curriculum improvements.
Engage students in active learning foster critical thinking skills and provide opportunities for discussion collaboration and handson learning.
Provide academic support and guidance to students through office hours feedback on assignments and mentoring.
Adhere to university policies academic integrity standards and accreditation requirements related to teaching responsibilities.
Incorporate innovative teaching methods technologies including online and video conferencing and pedagogical approaches to enhance student learning and engagement.
Engage in ongoing professional development activities to stay current in the field improve teaching skills and explore new instructional strategies.
Collaborate with colleagues departmental faculty and university staff to coordinate course offerings share resources and contribute to program development and improvement.
Participate in institutional service roles including but not limited to college committees advisory committees student/faculty recruitment and mentoring of new and parttime faculty.
20 Clinical:
Provide supervision for practicum and clinical internship experiences including developing and maintaining community partnerships for students clinical training and collaborating with partner schools and agencies.
Provide clinical support to the Tarleton Center for Child Wellbeing including psychoeducational evaluations functional behavior assessments behavior intervention plans and behavior consultations to contracted local school districts.
Minimum Requirements:
Earned doctorate degree in School Psychology (ABD will be considered if terminal degree will be conferred before appointment date begins) or other closely related field from an accredited institution.
Must hold (or be eligible for) the Specialist in School Psychology License (LSSP) from the Texas State Board of Examiners of Psychologists.
Must have prior experience working in PreK12 educational settings with children and their families in assessment consultation and intervention.
Excellent written and oral communication skills in English.
Preferred Requirements:
Graduate of a NASP (National Association of School Psychologists) accredited program.
Experience as a practicing school psychologist.
Successful teaching experience in school psychology or related field.
Experience with supervision of school psychology students at the graduate level.
Knowledge Skills and Abilities:
Knowledge and understanding of disciplinary subject matter at a level adequate for graduatelevel instruction; written and oral communication skills sufficient to conduct effective teaching and research activities; ability to interact with students staff and faculty in a professional collegial and collaborative manner.
