QUALIFICATIONS:
- BA MS MA or PhD
- > 35 years of experience

GENERAL SUMMARY/OVERVIEW STATEMENT:
Works independently in the laboratory the employee will carry out immunological and biochemical analysis of cells blood and other fluids and will carry out flow cytometry. Working together with the Principal Investigator coordinates quality assurance procedures performing statistical analyses designing research protocols and presenting data in laboratory meetings.
Experience in flow cytometry immunology or mass spectrometry preferred.
PRINCIPAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Carries out flow cytometry of human lymphocytes and other cells
- Measures T cell responses to antigens in laboratory assays
- Measures molecules in human blood samples using mass spectrometry
- Involved in the coordination of all regulatory and compliance activities for the experiments
- Carries out research projects on the role of antigen presenting molecular and cellular adhesion molecules
- Reports on work in progress at weekly seminars and interprets experiment results in conference with other researchers.
- Contributes to scientific literature and may present results at hospital and outside meetings.
- Responsible for quality control and maintenance of laboratory stock of tissue culture media including the education of colleagues to improve cost efficiency.
- Responsible for the continual maintenance and updating of the laboratorys lipid bank.
- Attends regular meetings of the Principal Investigators to discuss improvements on the general operation of the laboratory and acts upon decisions made.
- Performs all other duties as assigned.
