Qualifications and Experience
Ability to read write and speak English. Able to supervise and hold staff accountable to daily tasks. Must be organized and selfmotivated. High School diploma college education encouraged License trades preferred
Basic Skills/Abilities Required
Hospital Experience preferred
Licensed HVAC necessary
Knowledge of Siemens controls a plus
Good communication skills both written and oral.
Computer skills. Microsoft Word Microsoft Excel and fundamental understanding of work order systems.
Standing and or walking for majority of shift.
Frequently interfaces with professional staff patients and the general public.

Summary
Under the direction of the Facilities Manager responsible for overseeing staff and activities for the daytoday operations for the Engineering department. Maintains operations at an acceptable level of efficiency and manages the performance of employees. Reports problems issues and recommends solutions to the Facilities Manager. Oversees that suitable training is provided for all staff. Assists the Manager with annual performance evaluations of department staff. Assists in preparing and submitting annual reports.

- Keeps the Facilities Manager Department employees and other management staff informed of general issues/concerns including scheduled and unscheduled shutdowns regarding all branches equipment and components of facilities.
- Performs routine installations maintenance testing and the repairing of Building systems and related equipment.
- Will support Manager with administrative tasks and support.
- Trains and orients assigned employees. Keeps staff current on changes or additions to hospital policies and regulations.
- Assigns duties and supervises the performance of employees. Performs quality assurance checks on staffs performance.
- Evaluates performance of employees; makes recommendations on followup training disciplinary action.
- Inspects uniforms and personal appearance of department members and equipment used by department staff. Ensures that all policies and procedures are adhered to.
- Provide support for development of preventative maintenance methods and procedures for all equipment defined within the SRH. Provides support of the electronic work order and preventive maintenance system for upgrades and user training.
- Provides support as needed to ensure that all departmental programs are in compliance with JCAHO standards NFPA standards hospital directives and all other applicable government codes and regulations. As designated represents the Hospital to outside agencies organizations or companies on a wide variety of compliance issues relating to maintenance operations and construction
- Assures staff is supplied with proper supplies equipment and information to do their job. This includes maintaining an inventory of parts as well as consumables (fire stop door parts ceiling tiles fire ant lumber paints fasteners etc.
- Updates and maintains current Engineering Services Lockout/Tag out Confined Space and other safety related programs and procedures. Coordinates all required safety training of staff as needed.
- Performs the duties of managing departmental scheduling. This may include changing schedules for best hospital coverage.
- Ensures that all engineering personnel follow the lock out tag out procedures.
- Functions as Supervisor for the engineering department. Assumes responsibility for assigning and generating work orders preventive maintenance tasks and holds staff accountable for the quantity quality and timely completion of general work assignments and projects.
- May be required to work weekends or rotating shifts
- May be required to carry the oncall pager.
- Performs otherdutiesassociated withspecific and other trades as required.
