Job Title: Senior Civil Engineer Water Resources
Location: Central Connecticut

Position Overview:
We are seeking a Senior Civil Engineer with specialized expertise in Water Resources particularly in Hydrology and Hydraulics. The successful candidate will play a key role in municipal state and federally funded infrastructure projects overseeing technical design project management and client relations while providing mentorship to junior staff.
Key Responsibilities:
- Serve as the Lead Hydraulic Engineer on projects overseeing all technical aspects of water resources design including river and bridge hydraulics scour analysis stream restoration flood studies drainage studies storm and sanitary sewer modeling stormwater management and environmental permitting.
- Work collaboratively on a range of infrastructure projects ensuring compliance with applicable standards and regulations.
- Manage and support project teams offering guidance on hydrology and hydraulics aspects and assisting in project management tasks as needed.
- Mentor junior engineers fostering their growth and contributing to the development of the engineering team.
- Assist with client management maintaining strong relationships and providing exceptional service.
Required Qualifications:
- Education: Bachelors degree (BSCE) or Masters degree (MSCE) in Civil Engineering.
- Experience: Minimum of five 5 years in water resources engineering specifically related to hydrology hydraulics bridge and river hydraulics stormwater management and environmental permitting.
- Certifications: Connecticut DOT certification as a Hydraulic Engineer and a Connecticut Professional Engineer (P.E. license are preferred.
- Technical Skills: Proficiency with HECRAS HYDROCAD TR20 TR55 SWMM HY8 STORMCAD AutoCAD Civil 3D and/or Bentley MicroStation is required.
Skills and Competencies:
- Strong analytical skills with expertise in hydrology and hydraulic modeling for a variety of water resource applications.
- Excellent project management skills including the ability to lead technical projects and coordinate across multidisciplinary teams.
- Ability to mentor and develop junior engineers supporting their technical growth.
- Strong communication and client relationship management skills with an ability to deliver clear professional solutions to complex engineering challenges.
