Job Description

Seeking a part time Home Care Aide to work 4 days/week (Monday Wednesday Thursday Friday from 8:00 am to 4:30pm) in the Community Health Department no call no weekends!

Individual will follow written assignments on Home Care Aide Plan of Care follow policies and procedures and will provide personal and environmental care to patients in their home including but not limited to: bathing toileting skin care mouth care catheter care recording vital signs cleaning bathroom kitchen laundry etc. Individual will teach patient/family how to maintain or improve stands of personal care nutrition housekeeping child care or respite care under direction of an RN. Attention to detail ability to follow instructions critical thinking skills positive attitude and excellent customer service skills are a must. Individual may also complete office administrative assistant duties as needed.

Must be willing to travel within a 35 mile radius of Ida Grove to make visits. Use of personal vehicle is required however mileage is reimbursed.

Must have completion of no less than 60 hours Nursing Aide Course as well as a basic high school diploma. Must complete a competency evaluation which includes a written test and a skills demonstration. Minimum of one year of experience as a Home Care Aide or Nursing Assistant. Must be BLS certified. Must have valid Iowa drivers license with current vehicle insurance and reliable transportation.

Applicant must pass a background check health assessment and drug screen before hiring.
