Job Description
KETV the ABC affiliate in Omaha NE is looking for a Multimedia Journalist who will work out of our Lincoln Bureau. This person will identify stories in the Lincoln Nebraska region that will resonate with our Omaha metro audience. As a Multimedia Journalist you will possess the ability to write and edit video news packages and present them in a compelling manor. You will be a selfstarter who enjoys a wide range of storytelling like breaking news the legislature and sports. You will be prepared to deliver coverage LIVE. You will report to the News Director.
Responsibilities
- Gather information for stories and live reports for newscasts that could include mornings nights weekends and holidays
- Coverage of breaking news weather and sports
- Put together highquality packages
- Collaborate with reporters on packages special reports and documentaries
- Develop sources create story ideas and produce content onair online and all digital platforms
- live shots and live interviews and track news stories
- Inperson attendance required
Requirements
- Professional or schooling experience in television news reporting photography and editing
- Creative writer and editor for all platforms
- Must deliver with authenticity to connect with viewers
- Can provide samples of reporting and photography
- Experience developing local contacts
- Experience shooting and editing highquality video
- Can deal with the stresses and pressures of timesensitive newscast production
- Related military experience will be considered
